Whether you're considering joining ZBT or are already a member looking to join the house, this section provides answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. From room assignments and amenities to house rules and what to expect during your stay, we've got you covered. FAQ Parents:
Yes, each Brother must have a parent or guardian sign a guarantor lease.
Do you require a signature from a guarantor?
No, Brothers must submit work orders through the online portal.
Can parents submit maintenance requests?
Dues relate to monies paid for local, national, and University related fee while rent specifically covers room and board (where applicable) at the house.
What's the difference between dues and rent?
This will vary from chapter to chapter. Some houses have House Directors while others may not.
Is there any adult supervision in the house?
A completed lease agreement will be emailed to you. However, if you need an additional copy you will want to contact the Chapter President.
How do I view my student's housing agreement?
You will need to access our resident portal for copies of the bills.
Can I get copies of my student's bills?
This will vary house to house. Common room areas will typically be furnished. The bedrooms will be dependent on the specific house, most houses include a bed and desk.
What furniture is in the rooms?
Move-in is typically one week before classes start. Move-out is typically one week after classes end. All personal items need to be removed at move-out.
When is move-in/move-out? What do we need to know?
Yes, a professional clean will be done prior to move-ins.
Will the house be cleaned over the summer before move-in?
The house cleanings will vary house to house, but it is typically done bi-weekly.
How often is the house cleaned during the school year?
Yes, the work will vary based on projects budgeted per house.
Will any work be done at the house over the summer holidays?
Yes. Pest control comes out monthly and can be requested as necessary.
Is there a pest control company that services the house?
Yes, each house has a parking lot. The number of spots will vary from house to house. Please check with the current Chapter.
Is there parking at the house?
This will vary from house to house. Houses with commercial kitchens do not allow students into the area (professional staff only). Other areas may have appliances for easy meal creation.
Will my student have access to a kitchen to cook for themselves?

This will vary from house to house. For ZBT NHC houses, Buildium or Greek Capital Management is typically used.
How can I make a payment for my student?
Specific payment arrangements need to be made through the office.
Do I have to make a payment in full or are there other payment options available?
Typically, the rent will not include chapter dues. However, this will vary chapter to chapter.
Does the rental fee include chapter dues?
Yes.
Is there a charge for payments made with Credit/Debit card?
Yes, the fee is $1 per transaction.
Is there a charge for ACH payments?
No.
Is there a charge for recurring payment plans?

Please make your House Director or House Manager aware of the issue. They will enter the service request into Buildium. This could also vary from house to house.
How do I submit a maintenance request?
Let your House Director, House Manager, or Chapter President know. They will update ZBT NHC.
I moved in and found issues with my room, what should I do?
Ensure all belongings are out of the room and the room is broom swept before handing in keys.
Should I do anything special before I move out?
The housing agreement does not specify room assignments.
Does the housing agreement specify the room I will occupy?
This will vary from house to house. Check with your House Director or Chapter President.
What are the dimensions of the room I will occupy?
This varies, however, agreements are typically signed in the fall for the next school year.
When are housing agreements due?
This will vary house to house, but typically the month before move-in.
When is the security deposit due?
This will vary house to house, but typically the first payment is due by August 1st. Additional payments will vary by property.
When is rent/room and board due?
This will vary house to house. Houses may be owned by ZBT NHC or we may rent from a third party.
Who is my housing agreement with? Who owns my chapter's house?
Please talk with your Chef, Chapter President, House Manager, or House Director.
Who should I talk to if I have concerns about the meal plan?
Damages are billed instantly or taken directly from the security deposit.
How are damages billed?
Security deposits are sent 60-90 days after moving out.
When will I receive my security deposit after move-out?
This would require further discussion. Talk with your House Director or Chapter President first.
Can we fix things ourselves around the house?
Yes, traditionally beds are included, however, this will vary from house to house.
What furniture will be in my room? Are beds provided?
Yes, each house is equipped with at least one full size washer and dryer.
Is there laundry on site?
Pets are not allowed in the houses.
Can I have a pet?
Yes. You'll want to cover at least $100,000 in personal liability.
Do I need renter's insurance?
This will depend on the University, but typically students begin living in the houses starting their second year.
Is housing available to first year students?
No. The house will close for cleanings and updates. Summer break is the only time when personal belongings need to be removed.
Does the house stay open during the Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall breaks?
This will vary. Typically a lease will be signed for the school year and if a student studies abroad one semester, they will need to find another Brother to sublease.
I am considering studying abroad, is a one semester housing agreement available?
No. All lease agreements must be fulfilled.
I am not planning to return to campus for part of my housing agreement, can I be released?
You will want to take your concerns to your Chapter President.
What happens if I don't get along with my roommate?
